The Box of Secrets
The Box of Secrets relies on a progression of puzzles where each level asks you to open a specific container by understanding its own logic. First, you examine the presented box or chest, then you look for what can be useful: a visual clue, a hidden object, a pattern to match or a code to deduce. Your goal is always to reach the opening, but the path changes according to the situation. Some boxes are simple and are solved by good observation, others take the form of more complex cases, secured chests or ancient boxes that require several steps. You therefore do not advance by chance, you choose what to test, in which order to use your discoveries and when to revisit an element already seen if the solution does not work. Then the game introduces more marked blockages, because a misinterpretation can make you lose time, and a useful object can seem trivial until you understand its role. Otherwise, you risk standing in front of a lock without perceiving the relation between the displayed elements. To prevent this, a help system is provided and can restart the thinking when progression stops. The variety comes as much from the mechanisms as from the locations traversed, since you go from one type of box to another with different constraints and reasoning that do not repeat exactly. You must observe, experiment, return to a lead, then validate the correct solution to reach the next level. This design gives the player an active role, based on choices, attention and logic.
