Rummy Classic is based on a rule that is simple to understand, yet rich enough to require real choices at each turn. First, your objective is to form valid combinations, either cards of the same rank or coherent runs, in order to empty your hand entirely. Then, you try to lay down these cards at the right moment, because finishing a round before the others earns you the points corresponding to the cards they have not managed to place. A full game does not stop at a single round; instead it continues until a player reaches 200 points. You must therefore think both about the immediate gain and the overall score progression. If you keep difficult-to-integrate cards for too long, you risk giving them away as points to the opponent who finishes the round. The game becomes interesting in the way it forces you to adapt your plan. You can lay down your hand progressively to lighten your load, or conversely wait for a better combination to form. Otherwise, a too-late exit can leave you blocked with several useless cards. The presence of competitive artificial intelligence forces you to watch the tempo, because it does not grant a comfortable margin of error. One concrete detail also changes your reading of the table: the game can be played against a single opponent or in a four-player match, which strongly modifies the duration of the rounds and the uncertainty about the outcome. Another particularity, the interface adapts equally well to a vertical or horizontal display, which makes the flow readable according to your preference without changing the rules. Have fun!
