Retro Run is built on a simple idea, go as far as possible by traversing a series of obstacles that are not all solved in the same way. First, you move laterally to avoid what can be bypassed. Then, when the passage is closed or a target must be destroyed, you use an orb to clear the way. The game therefore asks you to read the situation quickly, because a bad choice slows you down or puts you in danger. If you waste your orbs on elements that could have been dodged, you risk lacking a solution a few seconds later. Otherwise, if you dose your actions correctly, you keep enough margin to continue despite the traps and changes of pace. Failure comes mainly from poor resource management. If you lose all your orbs, the game stops and you must start again from the beginning, which gives weight to every decision. You must monitor blockages, anticipate your responses and take advantage of bonuses picked up during the run to get out of a complicated situation at the right moment. Two concrete elements reinforce this logic: some sequences require destroying targets to progress, and the collected bonuses can be activated to get you out of a delicate passage. The variety comes precisely from this mix of dodging, destroying and managing risk, since you do not approach every portion of the route with the same priority. Sometimes you preserve your orbs, sometimes you take the initiative to secure the next section. Have fun!
