Knights vs. Monsters! is built on a loop that is simple to understand but demanding enough to force you into real choices at every step. First, you buy soldiers to expand your numbers. Then you distribute them across available slots to prepare for the fight against the monsters. Next, when two heroes of the same level are present, you combine them to obtain a stronger unit capable of better withstanding the enemy waves. Your objective remains constant: defeat the creatures that threaten the region and free the occupied castles. If your army lacks power, progress stalls and you must use your resources more wisely. The game therefore pushes you to arbitrate between accumulating fighters, improving what you already have and constantly adapting to enemy resistance. This logic creates real variety in situations, because you are never only buying or merging mechanically. You must also decide when to invest in new soldiers and when to prioritize leveling up, otherwise you risk ending up with a large but ineffective force. Conversely, aiming only for stronger units can leave you with too little presence on the field to absorb enemy pressure. Success thus depends on your reading of the balance of power, your ability to organize a coherent formation and your timing when regrouping.
