Hills Of Steel is based on a clear principle: you advance with a tank across rugged battlefields and must eliminate enemies before being destroyed. First, you manage your movements on hills that directly influence your tank's accuracy, stability and exposure. Then, you fire to make enemy vehicles give way, knowing that the game's physics can turn simple terrain into useful cover or a highly penalizing obstacle. If you engage too quickly, you risk becoming stuck in a bad position, suffering several consecutive hits or losing your advantage on the terrain. The objective is therefore not limited to hitting the enemy, you must also choose how to approach each slope, when to press the assault and when to adopt a safer posture to last in the fight. Then, progression pushes you to make development choices, because the rewards gained after battles allow you to strengthen certain capabilities of your tank. You can improve durability to better absorb hits or increase offensive effectiveness to shorten duels, and that choice has a direct effect on your margin for error. Otherwise, if your equipment does not keep pace, opponents quickly become too threatening. The game adds variety with ever more formidable opponents and access to new tanks, each bringing another way to approach battles. A propulsion aid can also be used to relaunch your tank or to better negotiate a delicate situation, which adds an important situational decision at the heart of the action. The logical sequence is to win, unlock, test, then go back to battle under more demanding conditions. Have fun!
Use the WASD keys to control the tank and the spacebar to fire.
