Dungeon Descent is built on a clear loop: you enter rooms filled with enemies, you eliminate them, then you collect the loot useful for continuing to lower levels. First, you must understand that the objective is not only to defeat what stands before you, but to build a run capable of supporting increasing difficulty. You find weapons, pieces of armor, upgrades and artifacts, then you decide what truly strengthens your chance of survival. Combat remains fast and punishing, so a poor decision, an overly risky position or poorly chosen equipment can be enough to block you in a room that is accessible on paper. You must also know how to switch weapons during a fight, because the same tool is not necessarily suitable for all enemies nor for all combat rhythms. Then the game gains complexity, because each descent hardens encounters and introduces more aggressive zones, with tougher opponents and bosses that demand coherent preparation. If you use your artifact powers too early, you may lack options when the pressure becomes maximal, otherwise you risk falling before you can benefit from them. The game therefore asks you to judge the immediate value of an item, but also its long-term interest in a progression that intensifies. This variety arises from equipment combinations, differences between biomes and Ascension modes, designed to push players who want a higher difficulty even further. A successful run depends as much on your reactions as on your reading of danger and your build choices. Have fun!
