Combat Guardian - Under Attack is based on a simple rule: you must clear each state of all its enemies to unlock the next, until you complete the country's 50 levels. First, you enter an area with its own terrain and enemy combinations, then you go through clashes that require quickly identifying threats. The game offers 8 enemy types, each with a distinct behavior, which forces you to revise your priorities depending on the situation. Some apply pressure with their speed, others endure more damage, others still attack from range or complicate your movement. As there is no friendly fire, you can focus your attention on dodging, positioning and selecting targets without fearing punishment from enemy collisions. Otherwise, if you neglect a group for too long, the screen can become hard to control and a round flips very quickly. Then the game enriches this basis with regular choices that add variety to each attempt. You can pick up special attack bonuses to speed up clearing the densest waves, but you must decide whether it is better to keep them for a tricky section or use them right away to regain the advantage. Every ten states, a boss alters the usual logic and requires a more disciplined approach than a simple terrain clear. Progression starts in Alabama and ends in Wyoming, which gives a clear, easy to follow structure, but long enough to evolve difficulty sensibly. As enemies gain intelligence and aggressiveness across levels, success depends on your ability to anticipate blockages, preserve your resources and avoid being trapped between several different threats. Each level won confirms your choices, each failure shows what to correct to go further. Have fun!
