Card Quest is based on card battles inspired by the rules of Triple Triad, with a dual objective that structures the entire progression. First, you must defeat the opponents encountered on the campaign map. Then, as you win, you also try to gather all the cards to complete the collection book. The principle is simple to understand, but it requires real decisions. You place a card on the board, then the values written on its sides are used to compare strength with neighboring cards. If your number is higher on the concerned side, the opposing card is flipped and changes camp. Otherwise, you leave an opportunity for the enemy to regain the advantage on the next turn. The whole match therefore consists not only of choosing which card to use, but above all when and where to place it. The difficulty comes from the fact that encounters are not limited to a sequence of identical duels. Each enemy may appear with its own battle rules and a completely different deck, which changes your priorities from one game to another. You must therefore observe the configuration, spot vulnerable cards, then build combos capable of clearing a large part of the board. If you play a powerful card too early, it can become an easy target. If you wait too long, you risk missing the spot that would have allowed you to retake control. The game pushes you to balance conquest, defense and preparation for decisive flips. Its fantasy universe gives the cards a strong identity, but it is indeed the logic of choices and mistakes that drives the campaign forward. Have fun!
