Air Assault - Ship Defense puts you in charge of defending a destroyer by asking you to eliminate all enemy aircraft before they hit the hull. First, you track the planes that dive toward the ship and you adjust your aim to their approach speed. Then the difficulty increases with larger groups, more dangerous bombers, armored airships that fly higher and kamikazes that pursue their trajectory to the end. Your objective remains simple in appearance, but failure comes quickly if you spread yourself too thin, if you allow bombs to fall near the deck or if you engage the wrong targets at the wrong time. In addition, the planes can fight back, which reinforces the need to decide quickly, never losing sight of the ship's overall survival. The core of the gameplay relies on judgment. You must choose between laying into a nearby wave, finishing an aircraft already hit or attacking a more resilient threat before it enters a critical zone. Otherwise, accumulated damage will eventually sink the ship. Between attempts, you spend the coins earned in the shop to improve power, cooling or hull strength, which concretely changes your margin for error and how you approach subsequent stages. This progression between runs gives real weight to each decision, because increasing damage does not produce the same result as investing in the boat's endurance.
