12 Minute Escape is built on a very readable but demanding decision loop, since your goal is to leave the area before the twelve minutes expire. First, you traverse the map to reveal spaces hidden under the fog and find what you need to progress. Then, you face the slimes to recover Essence, the central resource that allows you to advance toward repairing the portal. Otherwise, if you spend too much time exploring without strengthening your efficiency, you risk lacking power when the pressure increases. The game therefore asks you to choose between several priorities, accumulate resources, trade them, build at the right moment, or invest in upgrades that make movement and combat more effective. This logic, simple in appearance, becomes interesting because no minute plays out exactly the same way. Then, the pace is renewed thanks to several global events that appear during the run and modify your immediate decisions. Wizard Frenzy can, for example, push you to revise your plan to take advantage of a favorable window, whereas another event will rather encourage you to detour to maximize your gains. You can also unlock new adorable wizards, which adds variety to your attempts and makes you want to retry to better optimize your route. Failure often comes from poor judgment, because you built too early, fought too long in the same place, or neglected a temporary opportunity. Conversely, a good run relies on the order of your choices, on your reading of the risk and on your ability to turn each resource into concrete progress toward the exit. Have fun!
